- We had a leak pop up in our daylight basement recently and asked some friends for recommendations. Some close neighbors of ours highly recommended Darrell and his company Plumbing & Heating Specialist. We called and found him to be both friendly and responsive. We scheduled for a week out because our schedule is a bit crazy. When the leak got substantially worse one evening, we called back in hopes we might bump up our appointment. They came out next day! At 9:30 am! They were super friendly and understanding - and they worked quickly to determine what the problem was. They cut into the wall, helped my husband find what was going on, and determined it was a crack in the concrete. To make sure that was it, they also walked the outside and checked our outdoor piping as well as water metee.They gave us some repair fill and said they don't charge for assessments - but to let them know if we needed anything during the repair process for the seepage. We were so shocked at not being charged - that we were speechless as they left. We will be calling Darrell, Plumbing & Heating Specialist again for sure! - Our renter's called on Saturday and said the furnace was acting up. I called Plumbing & Heating on Sunday and Thomas, one of the owners answered the phone to my surprise. He said he would be at the rental Monday afternoon and sure enough both owners Darrell and Thomas were there when I arrived. I was told the issue, given options and the prices up front. I went with installing a brand new furnace, due to ours being 15 years old and once one thing goes, usually the next issue is close behind. They came back the very next morning, took out the old furnace, put a brand new one in and were done. The furnace and the job they did looked amazing, that is for a new furnace, but the price was what we were told, actually a bit under and the furnace works throughout the entire home much nicer then the old. I am a review freak! I have read some nightmares and was very worried. But they have all 5 start reviews. Funny thing is, I had called my father and told him I was on my way to my rental and the issue with the furnace. My father said I don't know who you are using, but you seriously need to call the man (Darrell) who does all of my heating and furnace work. Come to find out, I talked to Thomas and my father has worked with Darrell and they are both the owners of Plumbing & Heating! Great Job, Reliable, On time, Cost up front with no hidden fees, Wonderful to work with and I will continue to work with them for now on! I couldn't say thank you enough and I believe the best way to thank someone is to write them a review, or vise versa! This review just happens to be 5 star perfect! - We are new, young home owners, which in so many terms means we are clueless to many things. So when our furnace decided to go haywire and not turn off (resulting in an 80 degree house) we called around and finally found these guys. The level of professionalism and knowledge that we were shown was tremendous. Darrell was incredibly patient and answered all of our questions. He offered so much advice, and was very quick to admit when he didn't know something, but always found our answer. He tried multiple things to fix, and ended up only charging for the fix itself, not all the hard work he had already put into our furnace. - Fast Awesome Friendly Service! Thomas, my tech, actually arrived half an hour early! He was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions in easy to understand terms before he started the job. he finished in record time and left my house without being able to tell I had any work done. 3 days later I called him with a question enrelated to my original problem, and over the phone gave me the steps I needed to fix the problem myself....UNHEARD of theses days! - Wow! Prompt and professional service. Called with my problem and they were able to fit me in right away. Darrell told me up front there would be no charge to come and and diagnose the problem. When he and Thomas arrived they got right to work, took apart the valve, replaced two bushings and cleaned up their mess. - Darrell and Thomas are not only true professionals, extremely well-informed and prepared, on-time and fulfilling their commitments, but they're wonderfully nice guys as well. I recently had them replace both the furnace and hot water heater, (with a tankless unit) in my rental house and they were cheerful and accommodating about working with my sometimes 'difficult' renter in an unusual situation. I would heartily recommend them for any hvac needs. Their pricing was both fair and significantly less than the three other bids I obtained and the quality of their work was fantastic! - I called Plumbing and Heating Specialist (Darrell) at 2:15pm and asked how soon he could come - he was here by 3:30 on the SAME day!! We had some pipes that were leaking into our crawl space and the moisture was attracting some unwanted visitors?! I was freaking out -- he assured me that everything wrong (and there was ALOT) could be quickly fixed. They came back out exacty when they said they would be here - both guys that came were professional and super quick and explained everything they did in terms I can understand. Our gas furnace decided to stop working, and after searching and speaking with a few companies in the area, we decided to have the Plumbing & Heating folks come over to check it out. Tom arrived within 2 hours of us calling, and he seemed to know what he was doing. He quickly diagnosed the problem to be due to a faulty hot surface ignition device and drove over to the parts store that carried the part specific to our gas furnace, replaced it, did a quick clean up and off he went. When I asked about warranty of the parts and if there were any other issues that might cause problems again, he assured us that if there were any issues, he would come back and fix them. Its been a week since he fixed the furnace, and we are back to having heat in the house, and no issues so far.- Girish Bhatia. 1/15/2013- We had been fighting our furnace to keep it going for weeks. We called Darrell at Plumbing and Heating. He came right over and figured out quickly what was wrong. Because we needed parts, Darrell left 2 really nice warm space heaters for us to us to use in our bedrooms. He had the parts within a few days and had our furnace working. - Called on a Sunday morning and the owner answered the phone (no other company did), came out within the 1.5hr time frame he said he would (that never happens) found the problem immediately and felt it was such a simple fix (something needed cleaned) that he charged us NOTHING. - My furnace stopped working, I called Plumbing and Heating Specialist and they were out first the next morning. After checking my furnace and inspecting the heat exchanger they found a crack in the exchanger and notified me its releasing carbon monoxide into my home and that the furnace needed to be replaced.
